Cisco WMP200 Wireless-G Business PCI Adapter – RangeBooster
Posted on | December 21, 2009 | 2 Comments
The Linksys Wireless-G PCI Card with RangeBooster installs in most desktop and tower PCs, and lets you put your computer almost anywhere in the building without the cost and hassle of running network cables. Now you dont have to drill holes in your walls and climb through the attic or cellar to get connected to the network. Once youre connected, you can keep in touch with your e mail, access the Internet, use instant messaging to chat with friends, and share files and other resources such as printers and network storage with other computers on the network.

I replaced a Linksys WUSB54GC (USB adapter) with this product and now get a reliable connection right away rather than a hit or miss long wait to see if a connection would occur. Signal strength doesn’t seem to be much better but connection is always there. Solved my problem.

This wireless adapter is working well and I can recommend it to anyone looking for a PCI wireless adapter. Linksys was very clear that the adapter had to be installed before running the setup software. Pay attention to this. I ran into a problem installing the software, my own fault, and was not able to re-run the setup until I had uninstalled the software, deleted the device from my device manager, removed the adapter, rebooted, shut down, reinstalled the adapter, and started all over again. Once this was done I was able to re-run the setup again and all was well. Properly installed this is a fine product and the throughput is as advertised.
